The Sheepdogs are three shaggy-haired young men who play loud and exciting rock and roll in the tradition of the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Kinks, CCR and Led Zeppelin. Their combination of big rock riffs and sweet melodies is sure to put smiles on the good people's faces. Just 18 months after their debut as a heavy-garage-blues trio, the boys in the band have honed their chops, arriving at a sound that combines their love of Brit-rock melodies and southern rock stylings.

The Sheepdogs' following has grown just as rapidly as their sound. Their crushing riffs, soaring harmonies and witty between song-banter attracted crowds wherever they played. Before long, the boys went from local variety-night stages to headlining sold-out shows during Saskatoon's popular Fringe festival in the summer of 2005, to playing for a crowd of 2000 at the University of Saskatchewan's annual Commerce BBQ, later that year.

Guitarist Ewan Currie's vocals lead the attack, cutting their way through the rockers with grit and soul. Whether howling like Fogerty or singing sweetly like McCartney, his voice always captures a crowd. He's backed by Ryan Gullen (bass/vocals) and Sam Corbett (drums/vocals), who together form the rhythmic backbone with their grooving basslines and crashing drums.

Although the lads readily admit to having a long list of classic rock influences, their own personal twist keeps it new and fresh. The Sheepdogs have earned comparisons to other retro-influenced rockers such as Jet, the White Stripes, the Waking Eyes, the Kings of Leon, Thrush Hermit, Joel Plaskett, and the Black Keys.

Their debut ep, "the Breaks" was released March 31st of this year, and already the lads are hammering out demos for an upcoming full-length release.
